Follow the instructions on our entry page. Please ensure you have read the rules and entry requirements prior to submitting. Stories that fail to adhere to the rules may be disqualified.
Go to Step 3 on our entry page and submit via the Google forms link.
We offer 50 free entries per month on a first come, first serve basis, no application required (maximum of one free entry per person). All you have to do is register for free entry on the online portal, then submit your entry via Step 3 on our entry page.
If all free entries have been claimed for a particular month, they will not appear as an option in the online portal.
Yes. Since you are uploading a file, Google Forms requires you to be logged in. We realise that not everyone has a Google account. If this is the case, then after you have paid for or registered your entry on the online portal, please email us your submission as an attachment to bristol-short-story-prize@bristol.ac.uk, include the heading ‘Submission for BSSP: No Google Account’.
No. There is no way to turn off this feature in Google Forms, but rest assured, once your story is uploaded, our system automatically removes your name from the title before it is passed on to readers and judges.
Please be patient, the mailbox is not checked every day given that our team does not always work on campus.
When you register for entry, you will receive an email confirmation that includes your Order Number. If you do not receive this please contact us via the form below.
When you upload your entry, you will receive acknowledgement via an on-screen confirmation page only. If you do not see a confirmation page for your online entry, you are welcome to contact us via the form below.
